Production Operator - All Shifts


 

**1st Shift (Mon-Fri 7a-3p)/ 2nd Shift (Mon-Fri 3p-11:30p) / 3rd Shift (Mon-Fri 11p-7:30a) / Weekend A Shift (Friday-Sunday 7p-7:30a) / Weekend B (Saturday-Monday 7a-7:30p) Production Operator**
POSITION DESCRIPTION
Operates machines safely and efficiently to produce high quality products adhering to set standards and company processes and policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains accurate production data on production tracking logs by collecting all scrap/non-conforming parts, total number of parts produced and reasons for all machine down time
  • Able to shut down all machines and start up all machines they have been trained to
  • Observes machine operation to detect machine issues and immediately report issues to maintenance
  • Monitors parts for defects in all areas of production and corrects or reports any issues to maintenance and supervisor
  • Ensures quality of parts meet critical to quality (CTQ) requirements
  • Ensures all finished goods they produce are operator and date stamped
  • Maintains a clean and organized working environment and ensures safety is the priority
  • Actively participates in Hopkins Safety Programs, such as Safety and PIE Help Desks, Behavior Based Safety Audits, Safe Work Cards, and reports all near miss and first aid events
  • Promotes and maintains 6S principles throughout the facility
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

  • Excellent reading comprehension, communication skills, and ability to work well with others required
  • Must be very safety and quality conscious
  • Must be able to operate, understand, and transfer knowledge of all machines in designated work areas

Work Environment: Work conditions are consistent with a manufacturing environment. Frequent exposure to manufacturing operations requires the understanding and use of required PPE applicable to that environment. The ability to tolerate extreme temperatures while working in the production environment is a requirement. Standing, walking, stooping and bending are frequent activities that must be physically tolerated while maintaining good workflow and applied ergonomics. Low impact repetitive motions are frequent and must be physically tolerated. The employee must be able to meet the physical requirements of standing for 8 hours on a concrete surface and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
